A systematic review initially evaluating 586 studies on KPC-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae outbreaks, published between 2001 and 2012, and demonstrated that it is possible to limit the cross-transmission of these pathogens with in-hospital surveillance programs by detecting them early and taking the necessary rapid measures to prevent them to spread.
