James is an experienced pharmacist both academically and professionally recognized, he is also a hospital manager and consultant on drugs and antimicrobial stewardship, together with MSc and PhD evaluating antimicrobial PK/PD, writer, lecturer and professor.

Bachelor in Pharmacy and Biochemistry degree from the State University of Maringá in 1989, being  a pharmacist and owner of pharmacies until 1996, when he began a successful hospital career as a PHARMACIST, TEACHER AND HOSPITAL MANAGER.

The pillars of his management are: multidisciplinary leadership, planning, control processes and the balanced use of pharmaceutical supplies, reconciling therapeutic quality and sustainable hospital financial health.

In 26 years of hospital experience, he held several management and technical functions, achieving the superintendent position, while always aligning the work of the clinical and administrative sectors to achieve financial surplus with drugs, general medical materials and for orthosis, prosthesis and special high-cost materials.

His international experiences at the USC Hospital and UCLA Hospital (Los Angeles-USA), interning in clinical pharmacy and PK/PD practice of antimicrobials, guided the deployment  of the first clinical pharmacy service in the state of Paraná (Brazil) in 2006. The unprecedented nature of the service at the time and the repercussion of its good academic and professional results, especially with antibiotics, led him to participate as a guest in the stewardship course on antimicrobials at Dundee Hospital (Dundee-Scotland-UK).

He is currently a professor of the Medicine course at the Assis Gurgacz Foundation (FAG) in Cascavel-PR and a professor of the professional master’s degree at the State University of Maringá (PROFAR/UEM) and in several postgraduate courses.
